Raspberries - GATW & ICR Agora '71

Exact date unknown. No "Ma-ma yeah" action in the intro.
Raspberries - IWBWY Agora '73 + Hair Product Jingle
Просмотров 7122 года назад
By request, another track from the Agora '73 show with an unfortunate flaw at around 1:51. The jingle reminds me of bit of the Left Banke's Toni ad, though sadly it lacks an unhinged vocal outburst a la Steve Martin Caro's "Hey hey hey, get some Toni today!"

This show seems to have superior sound quality among Raspberries boots. I've only heard a few tracks and would love to hear the whole thing.
Raspberries - 2Nite Omaha '74

Incorporating pics from the classic lineup, mainly because I used up too many '74/'75 shots in another slide show. Scott McCarl gives a fun shout-out to his high school at the end.

Two BBC radio session recordings with "Wot" in the title "Whatcha Gonna Do About It" and "What Kind of Love." Yes, I'm aware the sound quality isn't so hot.
La Danse a-Go-Go Pt. 2 of 2

Chicago Go-Go girls demonstrate their art, accompanied by records and "live" music from a band called the Squires. Sorry about the sound quality some of my old VHS tapes are really starting to degrade.

"Wild on the Beach" Go-Go Scenes Pt. 2 of 2

Decent scenes from the most low-budget of all beach party movies, featuring the Astronauts doing "Speedy Gonzalez."
Consul General of Monaco on "What's My Line?" Pt. 2

A amusing souvenir of Grace Kelly Wedding Mania. (It's a two-parter 'cause I ran out of space on the first disc...and I'm hopeless when it comes to editing these files together...)

She sold the earliest editions of the morning papers to nightclub denizens. Tony Randall joins the panel. Clip starts off with a segment that happened to precede it on my VHS tape, featuring an irresistible Daly-to-Cerf zinger.

We Five's greatest strength was Bev's remarkable voice. They went downhill when they failed to capitalize on that strength.
This must have been earlier than the Beverly Hillbillies appearance. Here their hair is greased back.
What a personality Joan Crawford had. She just had a kind of electricity about her.... wonderful theatre face.
Not one of their best.
Somebody's ridiculous old dad😅
Don’t care for that song at all.
Does anyone know if a guy named Brian Cooper was in this group ?
Doris was a treasure.
I'm here from the songs that inspired flash man's theme in mega man 2 😂
Delightful... sadly, they'd be screaming sexual harassment nowadays 😞
The droopy wrist implying I'm so cool- I'm so hip" is wince inducing. Same with Mel's the walk. Women portrayed as indifferent objects of desire is also wince inducing.
Jane Meadows "She Doesn't Come With Product"
Wouldn't today's woke ashholes have a heyday with this show by trying to destroy the complete hell out of it?
After seeing two What'sMyLine appearances from Joan Crawford ... having trouble believing what is all in the book by Christina ... "Mommy Dearest."
Was that a real band? Who was it?
A very real band. The Enemys.
@@charlottebrooks3671 And I should have known that being from Rochester only a hour away from Buffalo. lol
Are you a comedian? I have been known to be a bit of a Joker…
So many great singers in that era. Tony Bennett was the last one.
My favourite Joker of all time Ceser Romero RIP
I went my whole life thinking this man was black. This is another bobby Caldwell moment for me lol
I was 6 months old
Now it's seems hilarious that they have to introduce themselves. Legends!
The Gilbert and Sullivan of early rock and roll. Kilgallen is only remembered now as a footnote, the "chinless wonder" (Frank Sinatra) and a possible murder victim.
Imagine it's 1957 and you, a red-blooded American man, are confused by thoughts like "I'd like her to beat me up."
🫶
Just don't let her start to sing "K Sir Raw", etc. she can't stop!!!
will you have sex with.
Eric 😢I'll always love you! Kisses to heaven! You and the group were the bomb!
Did the Sundowners or Paul Petersen release this song. It's really groovy
If only Marilyn Monroe had played a judo instructor in a movie. It would have been a hilarious comedy!
Now it makes sense
I love the sophisticated and quite correct manner in which Arlene Francis pronounces "penchant"😁😀😍
6:20- Who knew Bing Crosby was so hip? David Bowie and a Christmas Cover Song next! (Little Drummer Boy)
This black man had a great smile 😊
I didn’t know Shostakovich’s English was so good!
That was wonderful thanks for sharing! I had no idea this exists.
she was the true agent Carter( Captain america the first avenger)!
no botox, fillers , face lifts , orange skin wigs or Tattoos !…. and real class …
Who wouldve thought the lead singer would become part of three dog night
Her beauty was natural, not contrived. She comes across as quiet and thoughtful.
Huh? Is this who the character Honey West was based on?!?!
This was my first thought too and I needed some time to find out the background. The first Honey West book was published in 1956 and this was broadcast 1957. "Toni West" was only her stage name, probably she "stole" the name from this book. She was more a performer and not really a martial artist althrough there are some Judopics of her.
Such a beautiful woman, wonderful actress and tremendous class.
One of the greatest singing groups of all time.
She was almost as beautiful as Edith Bunker.
Her entrance and manners are of a queen. Such class that you don't find today in movie actresses.
This was so fun! A major star stumped the panel!
roots66, thanks so much for putting these tracks up, do you have any more from this tape or other ones besides Omaha you can put up? much appreciated man! Raspberries ***
I've always been impressed with John Charles Daly I always thought he was a very intelligent confident and smart enough to not try to dominate and be the center of attention I also appreciated his referring to the panelists and the guests by Mr or Mrs or Miss in fact I enjoyed this show in part because of its formality it's refreshing change from the over familiarness and complete lack of formality nowadays even amongst strangers and it can be a bit much. good manners and formalaties are like fences as they make for good neighbors - = mark twain paraphrased
This is in America, not the U.K. here it was very different!
